Beyond the Castle

We have been successful with an Expression of Interest to the Coastal Communities Fund for £300,000 towards Public Realm improvements on St George’s Quay – that could be surfacing, landscaping, signage etc.

We want to design the project detail with the community before putting together final proposals for the 17th October deadline. This is a tight timescale, but we need you to get involved in a community led design process! Not only will this result in stronger proposals, it will also increase our chances to secure the funding.

You can download a map and a feedback form that will allow you to contribute your thoughts and ideas in your own time here:

Please let us also have feedback through your regular channels by geolocating your images and tagging with #coastalcommunities For those who prefer to do things off-line we will print out maps and a set of instructions on how to feed in your thoughts and comments.

We will make these available through the Quayside pubs and Maritime Museum. If you prefer to be social come along to the walks and workshops listed below. All events are free and open to all.

Community Design Walks

Two walks are planned, please join us. Meet outside the Wagon and Horses at 1 pm (call 07887 831154 if you arrive after the walk has set off). A led walk to identify and discuss issues and priorities, and your chance to feed into the future design of the area. We will re-convene in the Wagon and Horses after the walk.
